What's In Your Active Rain Tool Box? Part 3- How Much Does It All Cost?

By
Real Estate Agent with The Gasset Group & Get It Done For Me Virtual Services 13253167-SA00

Lorraine and Loretta Katz asked a great question so I am going to deviate from the exact content I was going to provide next in order to add this post to this series due to its' relevance and importance.

Their question was: how much are you spending on a monthly basis on all these tools? active rain marketing series

To catch up on the series, here are the links to the posts in this series:

What's In Your Marketing Tool Box? Part 1- The Overview

What Is In Your Active Rain Tool Box -Part 2- Active Rain Tools

Here is the list of the tools that we use and the cost associated with them. Please read part 2 in order to get the run down of each of these tools:

Active Rain blog- NO CHARGE - I am grandfathered in.

Activeblog- NO CHARGE- I am an Ambassador.

Hit Router- $ 50 per month is what I cap it at right now. Usually it ends up averaging about $30 a month.

Localism Sponsor- $36 per month.

Iclip art: I have a special- this is a yearly fee not monthly- $29.95 per Year. So say $2. 50 per month. Click here for Iclipart.

Snagit: One Time Fee of $49.95- SO we don't count that because it would be a few pennies a month over years.

Firefox- FREE

Kompozer and Scribefire- FREE

Real Estate Shows- It is a yearly fee of $125 so break that down to monthly
would be $10.41 per month! WOW! I just realized what a value that is!

Flickr and Picnic are both Free but I have an upgraded version. We won't count
that here since that is not necessary and I do that not for business
but for my own preference.

Real Bird- Real Bird is Free but I pay $99 a year to get rid of all the ads on my widgets. Click on the this Real Bird link to get more information.

They are not intrusive so that is a matter of personal preferance too but let's
count that as $8.25 per month! WOW! That is a bargain because our buyers'
agent has put 4 buyers into contract  from Real Bird search widgets.
She already closed on one of those. I just started blogging with Real Bird widgets
in the middle of May.

Let's total this on a monthly basis:

$ 87.16  per month - this is a no brainer! Get on board now!

So add in a rain maker blog if you are not grandfathered in at 29.95 and you get

$ 117.11per month.

Bear in mind that the more money you spend on hit router the more money you
are going to make because the more leads you will get to funnel into your sales system which will turn into closed sales. But I don't have a good IDX yet and that is a must to make Hit Router effective. So when I add on a good IDX system- I will be increasing what we spend on Hit Router.

I agree about Realtor.com.  My "former" office had just decided to "insist" that all agents use the expanded or upgraded form of Realtor.com... for which one has to pay "extra."  I really disagreed with that... and told them so.  I do not like wasting money... and that... the upgraded form of Realtor.com... I thought was REALLY a waste of money.  Again... thanks for the list of things in your tool box.

Katerina - my expenses are about the same as yours - Hit Router is doing well for me, too.  I, too am going to renew Real Estate Shows without the AR discount - what a good idea to give Jeff a tip for the great service!

Thanks for all of your blog posts to show us the way.

Hi Katerina, I'm using most of these but not all. I'm not familiar with real bird.  As a buyer's agent is it something that I should look in to?  I have some listings but they are mainly from past clients; I prefer buyers.
