Health Insurance Feedback?Perhaps it's only a coincidence that in the midst of our nationwide health-care debate, I was just notified that my individual health insurance rate has just been raised (again). It's now more than 30 percent higher than it was in December 2008.

In my quest to find a replacement, I've learned one thing: Apparently, no one is satisfied with their health insurance -- at least not anyone posting internet comments about the carriers I've been researching: Aetna, Humana One, Assurant and United Health Care.

So if you have any personal experience with any of the above-mentioned providers -- or with the new RE/MAX Health Plus Plan -- I'd love to hear from you. Thanks.

I think NAR has arranged a form of group health care for Realtors. You might want to check with their insurers.

Vickie -- Thanks for the suggestion. Alas, I did check into the REALTOR® Core Health Insurance plans, but they are intended to supplement rather than replace major medical.

Hello Lisa, reasonable health care plans for the self-employed in this country has been dysfunctional for years!  We live in Washington State yet, too close to Portland.  Thus, we are "orphaned" from most Washington State offered plans; and often not well recognized by Oregon based plans.  Do you get similar treatment being a decent distance removed from Portland?  John

Hi Lisa - We get our personal health insurance through Assurant. Every year they increase our premium tremendously (30-40%), and every year when I shop the policy they're right in there with the other companies. I sure wish areas could find a way to come up with an alternative that makes sense. Don't think I want the gvt doing the designing, though.
