Tell me...are those photos of sea turtles who cry when they lay their eggs?
Chris-
I can never get enough of Barefoot. I practically live there on the weekends. It is by far the most beautiful beach ever, and we are so lucky to be able to go there year round.
Thanks for sharing your great photos.
Molly
Don't you love it Molly?!
JaneAnne, these are gopher tortoises. THey only do land, they can't swim. They are vegetarian and live in burrows in the ground like a ... gopher!
I wish I could be sucked into the screen and plopped right on the white sandy beaches ! You have done (another) fine job capturing an audience and I certainly see you as the expert to your market area.
Chris - I haven't been here often - your posts are a thing of beauty. Great pictures and info. I especially like the format of your posts and the additional information you provide.
Congrats on being chosen one of the top 25 this week.
It must be turtle season everywhere. I saw three today trying to cross the road.
Your beach pictures are BEAUTIFUL!!! MORE!!! MORE!!!
Hi Chris - what a tempting post this is, tempting and tantalizing to get down to that beach!! Love these pictures! You always have beautiful local content posts, and this is certainly no exception.
Congrats on the Week in Review feature - very well deserved with this wonderful post!
Ann
Hi Chris,
Wow! Beautiful post and so informative - just packed with good stuff. Thanks for sharing and congrats on being featured as part of the Localism week in review. Well deserved!
I was reading that they had to pass a bill recently to keep developers from burying the nests of the Gopher Turtles in Florida... why did that take a bill?
One of the fun things about Florida is walking outside in your backyard and running smack dab into wildlife...
My favorite probably are some of the birds.
I had 50-60 wild parrots flying around in the spring!
I really appreciate you all stopping by and leaving a note.
The gopher tortoise enjoy federal protection.
