One of the most popular events in Centennial Park during the summer are the FREE dances and live music that are held at the Event Shelter from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday evenings. These events will run through September 1. This is a 24 year-old summer tradition featuring FREE ballroom dance lessons at 7:00 p.m., live music beginning at 7:30 and ample space to spread a blanket and set out a picnic. The events are suitable for and attract people of all ages. This summer the
Centennial Café will have food and beverages for sale. The FREE dances are sponsored by Metro Parks, the Tennessee Arts Commission, WAMB, Dance World, Musician's Trust Funds and Arts in the Parks.
