This the follow up post to Friday Foto - Hidden Animal in the Sage Brushes

Here is the animal in all his/her beauty!!!   MEOW!!!

Hidden cat in the sage brushes - Red Lodge, Montana

It took some time to find this one.  Only two members got it right: Donna Harris of Austin, Texas and Mark Swartz of Toronto, Ontario.

Thank you to everyone who played.  I enjoyed all the guesses. The most popular guesses were: fox, coyote and wolf.

Here is the kitty in the first photo (not obvious at all) of the initial post:

Here is a zoom on the location where the cat was in photo #1 (a little bit more obvious after the zoom).  You should see the two tips of his white ears and part of his brown/orange back:

Here is the kitty looking at me from behind the sage brushes in the second photo of the initial post:

Rita,

The cat is sure pretty but yes, it is sad that he/she is a feral cat.   Thanks for stopping by to comment.

Marchel,

Cute animal was one of my clues but most probably thought it could be a cute little fox.

Marc,

Funny comment!  I had initially spelled your name wrong (believe it or not) and last name to be exact.  But, I immediately corrected it but your comment made me think I had not or somewhat the change was not saved on my post.  You sure caught me by surprise with that comment!  :)

Aren,

No I have not seen that movie.  I am assuming that the cat in my photos reminded you of Milo.

Hi Gerry,

Sorry I missed all the fun.  I had 55 people for dinner tonight ( my mom in law's 75th) and I've been busy preparing the last couple of days.  Will have to catch up on AR tomorrow.  What a lovely cat photo.

Hi Gerry - Seems that the ActiveRain coding doesn't like your edit corrections.  Doesn't surprise me since the spell check also only likes American spellings of various words including the OR/OUR series.

Many people spell my first and/or last name incorrectly.  It doesn't seem to make a difference if they are responding to a letter or e-mail of mine where they see my name spelt correctly.  In some cases, I have received an envelope spelt correctly but the letter is incorrect (or vice versa) or different spellings in the same e-mail / letter.  A number of people also decide to change the pronunciation of my last name by adding a CH after the S.  Happens all the time.  C'est la vie.

Jenny,

That is a lot of people to have over for dinner!  You must have cooked a storm.  I hope you had a great time celebrating your mother in law's 75th.  I am glad you liked the cat photo.  He was my accomplice and he sure fooled many of the members.   I hope to see you again at the next guessing game and have you guessing. :)

Liz,

You would have been the only member with that guess!  I am not sure where the Montana monkeys are hiding but if I see them, you can rest assured that I will do my best to take a photo!  :)

Marc,

Lots of people call me or refer to me as Gary (including some AR members despite sending them an email to correct them).   You can imagine how many people spell my last name incorrectly but that one is understandable.  The Armenian alphabet has 38 letters compared to 26 for English and French.  I got two letters in my last name that require multiple letters in French/English to sound like what the Armenian letter sounds like"  "kh" and "tch".   My last name written in Armenian is only 8 letters and if I translated my last name to French, it would be "Delacroix".   But as you said it, whether it is misspelled or mispronounced, it happens all the time.  Et oui, c'est la vie!  :)

Gerry I missed the previous post and to tell you the truth I would have never gotten it. What a great shot, I love the cat's coloring and the contrast of the surroundings. Now how did you notice this cat in the wilderness? Just wondering...

Cynthia,

I have seen him/her many times before on the road to work. The white just sticks out in the summer time with all the green.  On this day, I first saw the cat running on the side of the unpaved road on which I was driving.  Then making sure no one was behind me, I parked on the side, put on the hazard lights, got out of my car and took a few steps up the hill to get these photos.  I knew exactly what kind of post these photos would end up on even before taking them! It was not obvious at all and I knew no one would expect a cat in the wilderness that is why it made such a good guessing game photo post!  I hope you like my lengthy explanation.  :)

Wow, he was hidden really well. I almost didn't believe there was an animal there, I didn't see anything at all.

Morning Gerry I LOVED the lenghty explanation, it was just what I wanted to hear. I felt as though I was living what you experienced. I'm a detail kind of person so it was spot on and thank you for taking the time to write it out my friend :) Once again, that was a great capture!

Good morning Cynthia,

We must think alike.  I'm a detail kind of person too when it comes to explanations.   :)

Gerry----I wouldn't have gotten this one. I even looked again thinking it may have been a dear or perhaps a moose. When I found out it was a cat, I thought.....geez.....I was way off! I guess I'm blind as a bat. Thanks for posting these hidden picture games. I enjoyed them! Neat idea!

Hey Gerry, I was right the first time, it is parallel to the dead tree in the middle.

Nancy,

I am glad you enjoyed it.   Deer are very common.  Moose is fairly rare but hard to have well hidden in a photo.    I knew this cat was going to be difficult to spot because he seems to be outside his normal environment/setting.
