Now who is that fine looking young woman in those photos? Love New Orleans Chris Ann, and glad you hung out there back in the day. I liked to see you made your way to Bourbon Street. No trip there would be complete without that tour of duty!!

Chris Ann you've made me miss the Big Easy.  My husband and I used to go yearly and I loved it.  I haven't been back since Katrina.  Guess I'll have to start planning a trip.  Thanks

Gary:  Luckily enough, back in my radio days, the National Association of Broadcaster's convention was held in New Orleans that year.  It was a blast.  Bad decision on the upper management of my company's end to have an early Saturday morning training session after free time on Friday night.

Victoria:  After Katrina hit I was so thankful that I had already been to New Orleans.

Chris Ann:  I was going to ask that very same question that Gary asked.  I have only been to New Orleans once... and that was as part of a US Home (the builder) trip I won back in the mid-nineties.  I did not know the city, but was rescued by my sales manager (who really thought I was cool) who dragged me out of the hotel and took me down to Bourbon Street (I guess) and showed me HER version of New Orleans' highlights.  I was very grateful for that.

By the way... I finally remembered the name of the sales manager.  Her name is Marcia Dillon... and after googling just the name Marcia, and KB home in Phoenix, up she came.  She is now Division President of KB Home in Phoenix.  I am sure she has KB cooking at the top of it's capability.  She was a great boss to me... back in the mid nineties.

PS... Chris Ann... with you standing so close to the edge of the street like that (in the middle photo) I am surprised that you did not get some really good "offers."  LOL.

Karen Anne:  I was surrounded by very adventurous folks.  The highlight of the trip was scoring tickets to see an invitation only show by Hall & Oates.  They performed at a club called Tippitina's and were playing for top level radio execs.  A friend and I talked the President of Westwood One Radio Networks out of his tickets.  It was a small crowd, complimentary drinks and food.  That is an event I will remember forever.

Karen Anne:  That happened once in a seedy part of Baltimore.  That's another story entirely.

Liz:  It's New Orlean's St. Louis Cathedral.

Chris Ann:  Two comments here... first, I would have loved to have seen that Hall & Oates show.  I bet it was awesome.  Second... we... all your fans out here... want a very long post detailing the how's and what's of your encounter in Baltimore.  Inquiring minds want to know !  LOL.

Speaking of intimate shows... my two fave places while I lived in DC... Alexandria and Centerville, actually... were The Barns at Wolftrap... and The Birchmere.  What great venues.  :)

Karen Anne:  Was early 1990's.  Was there with my cousins to see a Bon Jovi/Cinderella show.  We got lost  Some older guy pulled to the corner as my female cousin and I had fallen behind the males and asked, "How much?"  Mind you, it was winter, we were fully clothed and in coats.  Nothing provacative there on our end.

Chris Ann:  What good-looking legs !  I bet it was the result of all the in-line skating you did back then, huh ?           August 31, 2011

Karen Anne:  Actually, it was about that time in my life where I had given up inline skating because of an accident I'd had on them.  Out without a helmet, no pads except for knee pads and wrist guards....and fell backward....hitting my head and elbows on the pavement.  OUCH!

Chris Ann:  Ouch is right !  About six years ago I fell backwards on an icy sidewalk (yeah, here in Fort Worth) and banged my head.  Even got a bit of a concussion out of it... so I can imagine how it must have felt for you to be doing in on skates.  :(

Isn't it funny how once in awhile one of these older just posts pops up ?
