REALITY CHECK! I like getting checks, but this is ...

In the course of any day we are all faced with information, choices and decisions. Some are welcome ... others not.

I have had to make some life altering changes recently, but decided to not let them rule my life. I will remain in control and handle this on my terms.

The one thing I'm sure of ... nothing is impossible. OK - almost nothing is impossible.

But I do know one thing ... we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for.

Hi Carol, I went and read the full story, and I worry about that with me, so I try to be careful of what goes in the mouth. Not always a success though, LOL. Sometimes life does just shake you by the shoulders.

After watching all the Kennedy "stuff" on TV this weekend, I realize that overcoming adversity is really within all of us, our choice. As the story of his life unfolds, I listen in amazement, all is possible, it truly is. Amazing. It is what we do when we hit those bumps and bruises, those twists and turns and build a better life on them, a better self.

I believe you can overcome anything and everything happens for a reason. A friend said to me once if God brings you to it he/she will bring you through it. I didn't like it when she said it of course but I believe it now. Good wishes your way ~~~

Let me try this again. This is my way of offering you my love, my concern and my prayers. I never know what to say when things like this happen to someone I care about. I hope to someday have that ability. Until then, I shall sing with you :)

June - I believe that with all my heart.

I was always taught that God doesn't give you more than you can bear. For me ... this is just one more test that I shall pass with flying colors. Thanks for your concern.

TLW - You can sing with me anytime! I can't carry a tune, but if you sing really loudly nobody will know that I can't sing. :) Thanks for your concern. We all have crap to wade through - and this just happens to be one more pile.

Susie - Thanks, lady! You don't have to give up ice cream at all. I learned that Blue Bunny makes a sugar free line (sweetened with Splenda) that is also low calorie. The flavors are wonderful and I can still 'indulge' when the urge arises. Looking forward to seeing you in November!

Carol, I'm so sorry to hear this and know it requires a huge adjustment. My diet has become so restricted it's claustrophobic! Somehow we do it when we have to and I know you will, too. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better, though, that's always good news.

Carole - I was always afraid of this mess since my mom was diabetic. But, when the dust settles, it is what it is and now I have to deal with it. I can't wish it away, so I'll just have to adjust. LOL Oh well, it could be much worse, so I guess I should be grateful that I have the chance to turn it around without needles and insulin. Thanks, you're a real sweetheart. :)

Yes, you will learn to make the changes that you must make to live with this. I must say I was relieved when I read what it was--I was imagining much worse!
