Don't send me a listing unless it's a steal! WOW now...who am I to decide what's a steal?

What is a steal? And are real estate agents the ones who should determine this?

As an active REALTOR(r), when I get a customer requesting a "steal" I hesitate.

I will send you the lowest priced properties that I can find, you choose. You decide if it is what you define as a "steal".

What determines a steal?

Well, as I'm told its probably more classified as a REO or bank owned property.

Does that mean that the customer is willing to buy this AS-IS property and take on the responsibility to fix it up?

What's a steal? What do you as an agent think of this type of request and how do you handle it?

If it is a "steal" I may buy it myself or send it to a loyal investor. People who have never deal with us and make this request need to get a life. DUMP THEM!

No kidding. Isn't it amazing the things people ask you to do for them? You, my customer are the one that needs to tell me if you want to make an offer on something that you, my customer...see's this as a steal of a deal

When people say this, I just send them the listings within what they requested and they usually drop the 'steal' language when they see what is out there. I point out any that are short sales or REOs and discuss the process with each of those choices.

I do that as well...however, when I hear that language, I cringe...
