#4 in Purple.......Brett Farve. :-(   Sorry Farve fans but this writer thinks it is a big mistake.  I watched Farve play the first half and I am sorry, but he is flat!   Out of shape and belongs in the Rocking chair.

The Vikings have a great young team...Give them a great young quarter back and lets play!   Instead, you give them an old man that may or may not do good and then next year have them learn all over again with another new quarter back.

Ticket sales have been down and hard to sell at times.  That is all this is about in my opinion.  Besides, the salary being paid is way out of line.  (For any of these guys...including CEO's)

He has had a great career, take it and run.  Vikings...get your heads out of the sand and stop looking for that magic man and go get a good leader that will stay with his team for years to come!

Bill...

But sometimes it's better to have your enemy where you can keep your eyes on him!

HI Richard...that is true in many situations...but I think they should have brought him in as acoach.  Only thing is that he most likely isn't interested.   I seen the Vikings do this before.  They had a first round draft at quarterback.  Excellent kid.  Brought in an older QB and did mediocre.  Traded the draft chioce and he went on to a super bowl and some very imopressive stats!

William - I agree Farve looks flat. The vikings seem to have a young team and need to develop them.

Viking's head are somewhere.... maybe not in the sand though.  I agree he is done and he needs to just dry the tears and accept when a good run has come to an end.  But I think the Vikings did it just to spite the dreaded cheese head rivals.

Sometimes you just to know when enough is enough.

I have lost all respect for Farve. He retires then he's not retired and playing for the Vikings in the same division, that would have been like Elway retiring then coming back to play for the Raiders.

I am cracking up at Richard's comment! And it will be interesting to see how he and the rest of your team do against the Cowboys in the upcoming game!

Bill... I have never been a Bret Farve fan, he has always struck me as being too big of a "Star" who cashed big checks for average play.

Russell...I do agree.

Steve...Anyone can be good if you are surrounded by talent.  Last nights game wasn't so much Farve's play, but the play making of the running back and wide reciever.  Yet, the media gave Farve all the credit!

I don't have time for overpaid athletes or CEO's for that matter.  As a small farmer, I need just a bit more for our products so we can break even!

Now there is a hot button!  Sorry...but he should disappear like the morning dew.

He certainly has been very impressive so far from what I have seen, but he may have some more magic left in him. In the end, whether or not he catches fire, his time is winding down due to age.

I agree with Alan... Of course, at least he didn't go play for the Bears! It makes me wonder what will go through the Packer's heads when they're tackling their old quarterback. (pun)
