bare tree

Was thinking of going Wordless, but now that I roll with spell check there is no need!

For some reason I was in the mood to play around on Photobucket and do a little manipulation on a 'nature' photo.

This 'dead' tree is in our south pasture.  Hubby wants to cut it down, but I want to leave it up one more winter so I can hang stuff in it for the birds.  When I started playing with the photo it reminded me of my dad.

Years ago my dad took an empty coffee can filled it with gravel, added a de-leafed branch and hung a shot gun shell from one of the limbs.  He then took it to his office and set it on his desk.

I know it drove the co-workers crazy wondering what he was up too.  Gotta love Dad's spirit of Holiday Humor!  Knowing him I doubt he ever told anyone what it was, he just let people form their own opinion of his Christmas Display.  It must have been fun to work in an office before the Politically Correct Crowd took over.

You go girl with your creativity! Is it reverse heredity from your son, or did you pass it on to him?  =o)

I like your dead tree. Dead trees are just another part of Mother and Father Nature's beauty. The following dead tree was left for the woodpeckers, who thoroughly enjoy it.

Captian- looks like Russel (#6) is giving permission to let them be.  I am sure that ours will still be there for awhile.  Yard work is not high priority right now!  cw
