it tickled and i liked it...my butterfly hitchhiker

By
Home Stager

I was walking along the trail with Ted my husband when I felt a tiny brush upon my shoulder thinking it was him tickling me with a blade of grass. Oh that Ted of mine is a playful soul! I looked down and much to my surprise I saw a butterfly, so with camera in hand I quickly took a snap but only got a shot of the ground behind me.

Hey the butterfly was till there! Ted took the camera and shot the next two photos of my lovely hitchhiker. Guess what? This charming creature stayed there for around 5 minutes while we traveled the trail, it tickled and I liked it!

Say hello to my new little friend!

It tickled and I liked it!

We had passed a flowering bush a few minutes earlier and three butterflies landed on my belly, they were pretty fast fluttering around and this gal wasn't fast enough to capture the moment.

Looking back at these photos brings me back to that peaceful mindset I had that day! I can't help but smile when I get a chance to view them again.

When you are having a not so good day do you have something that brings you back into focus?

Maybe it even tickled you!

Your comment had me laughing Jack, just remember you always have Izzy and the gang :)  I'm a little envious of your fuzzy family!

As my wise old grandmother said, "Life is a journey, not and end. Enjoy the journey." To which I added many years later, "And take lots of pictures to share with people." Thanks for sharing.

Morning Russel, your wise old grandmother Mary was very wise indeed and I like your addition of taking pictures to share too :)

I loved being able to participate in the fabulous contest you put on and I noticed the pdf files opens in the URL of "mywiseoldgrandmother.com", that tickled me!

Thanks Mike I'll be sure to tell Ted!

It's one of my fav hats, the gentleman who sold it to me called it a 'character hat', he said you had to be a character to wear it. Oh boy it was he who was the character!

I absolutely LOVE this post! And your line "thinking it was him tickling me with a blade of grass." cracked me up because I am often as mischevious with my wife!

Have a great week!

What a special moment this must have been between you and your new friend!  The butterfly must have felt very safe to stay with you so long.  I would have loved the experience!  Nice photos, Ted!

Morning Sheldon :D !!!

You must be terribly exhausted by now with all requests for your friendly presence on their blog. I can't believe you put that out here. Just goes to show you what a kind fellow you truly are!

Yes very observant my friend, I'm a behind the camera person so it was my luck to have Ted with me. My smiley face hummm...that was a nickname given to me in grade school "Smiley". Sounds more like a blokes name as in "Hey have Smiley meet us at he pub for a pint."

As for the ink...IF I had any, a butterfly would not be my style, I'm more of a tribal or script fan ;)

See ya in the comments Sheldon!

During the summer months here in Oregon at the zoo we have a butter fly exhibit and it really is special when they land on you. The are such light little creatures with such grace, but, getting to go in to this enclosure and see them from all aspects from cocoon to beautiful creature is pretty neat. Last year we actually got to see two emerge right in front of us.

Hi Todd, So sorry for the late response, I've just received an email notifications this morning on all my blogs. AR had been wonky for me the past week.

Wow that must have been fun and very mesmerizing to experience a multitude of those delicate creatures up close & personal. You & your family must have been thrilled to see them emerge from the cocoon, I've yet to see that or a butterfly exhibit, I'll have to put that Google alerts for a chance near me!

Hey Todd, I just finished setting my Google alerts so I can have that same experience. I recently had a chance to see many, many orange butterflies on the beach in Destin, FL it was such a beautiful sight, I wasn't expecting that fall color display! I managed to get some great close up shots too.
