Austin job growth graph

Austin has lots jobs over the last 12 months or so, but not like other markets.  Considering the state of the national economy, Austin has been pretty healthy.

Jobs are one reason people move to Austin and seeing a slightly negative job growth rate one might expect this to stop.  Well,  it hasn't.

People move to Austin for more than jobs.  They move because of the area's natural beauty, th elive music scene, to retire, to buy second homes and for various other reasons.

When the national economy starts a real recovery, Austin is likely to lead the way in job growth and when that happens, it shouldlead to an improved real estate market with a lot more homes selling.
