10 lessons for a better blog by Michael Sebastian of Ragan.com

Michael Sebastian, staff writer for communications website Ragan.com, published a great article yesterday entitled "10 Lessons for a Better Blog". While most of the examples deal with corporate blogs, the lessons are applicable to any and all bloggers and should be required reading for anyone serious about blogging (yeah, I know I don't have a great track record, but I'm trying!). Each lesson is accompanied by real life examples and tips to help you use those lessons.

My favorite lesson (of course): "Lesson #8: Embrace photography - Tip: Start a weekly or monthly photo contest or photo caption contest on your blog for employees or customers."

This is one of the best articles on blogging I've seen!

Thanks for sharing this. I have searched out some of the blogs mentioned in the article. I don't read a lot of company type blogs usually just news source blogs so it was interesting to see what they do.

Glenda, thanks for sharing a great article. I am really knew to this and looking for all the help I can get. Guess I need to learn to get better with my digital camera so I can come up with some good photos.

Lesson #11: Just do it! Blog regularly. Blog daily.

Glenda - There is some good advice in these 10 lessons for a better blog. I think any sort of opinion poll or contest will generate interaction between you and your blog readers. Photos are always good, and I agree with Douglas' lesson #11 - Blog as often as possible.
