Cancer awareness

October is Cancer awareness or Breast Cancer month but it is never to early to start talking about it.  My wife Marianne is a three time cancer survivor.  Her cancer was discovered the first time over 19 years ago.  We have had our good times and rough times because of cancer.  But she is alive because she went to the doctor and continues to go to the doctor.

I urge all of you to go see your doctor if you think something is wrong.  Delaying a diagnosis is far worse than fearing what may be true.  You can survive!  So get in and get checked out.  Whether you are male or female see a doctor.

Wow what a fighter your wife must be. I agree completely with your advice on seeking help for probelms and routine screening. It has saved countless mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, husbands, sons, and fathers.

Russ,

Oh my gosh, 3X survivor? Good for her!  My now 7-year old granddaughter is now officially in remission, last chemo was Aug. 1st. We expect her to have a full life.

I'm a huge support of cancer research and treatment and obviously your wife and little Katie are both receipants of the support of many others along the way. God Bless them all!

Russ thanks for sharing about your wife, she is an inspiration!  You are so right in what you said "Delaying a diagnosis is far worse than fearing what may be true".

It's funny I sometimes get into a conversation in the waiting room when I get my annual mammogram and I have spoken with some women who say they don't come every year because the xray machine hurts.  I just say that yearly screening is so worth it no matter the discomfort and I recommend thay take an ibuprofen pill before they go to help with that discomfort.

All the best to you and your wife.     Gloria
