The opportunity of a lifetime is at hand. Plenty of homes are available at affordable prices. Interest rates remain historically low and to sweeten the pot, there is a tax credit available for qualified first-time buyers whose income is within IRS-established limits. Must close prior to November 30, 2009 to receive a tax credit up to $8,000.
A few tax credit basics:
- Must be considered a first time home buyer if neither you or your spouse has owned a principal residence in the U.S. within the last 3 years.
- Must close prior to November 30, 2009
- Can claim the credit when you file your 2009 tax return. Or, if you prefer not waiting, file an amended 2008 return and receive the credit upon purchasing your home.
I can't provide every detail of the program and not qualified to give tax advise, but I can help you make sense of the regulations. Click here for more information.
Don't wait! Give me a call and I can help you decide whether now is the time for you to become a homeowner. If the time is right, I'd be honored to represent you as you seek out your dream home.
November 30th is fast approaching, call 203-702-1583 or email me lisabrown@remax.net today! Servicing Fairfield, Litchfield & New Haven Counties.
