Thanks, everyone, for your comments. It was a relaxing trip back from a rural home home that I visited in preparation for listing it. I had not gone this route for many years - fun to see water in the desert.

Did you take the REALLY long way & detour through Eastern Washington? Those pictures remind me of areas there!

I dislike those kinds of roads but my marketing guru loves them. The bumpier and more winding it is, the more he likes them. Also helps if there is a steep cliff on one side. I like asphalt, concrete, and speed limit signs -- LOL.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. It is great to get a pictoral perspective of other parts of the country.

When I saw these pictures Jim I was wondering how many people see beauty in our dry, dusty State where sagebrush lines our streets and rivers? I see the beauty, of course, as do must of us who call Nevada home. From your pictures I can almost smell the sweet fragrant scent of sagebrush and hear the river gently flowing and feel the mist of water on my face from the wind that gently blows off the rivers....oh, how I digress, I think I need to go for a drive and get out of the office!!!

You have clearly been there, Terrie. Go for a drive - get off the pavement and enjoy.

I wish I had roads like that on the way back to my office. I think I would take them on a regular basis, just to get away.
