I'm doing research for an upcoming article I'm writing about Real Estate Agents and new creative technology tools. I would love to hear what your favorite technology tool is, and how you use it as a real estate professional.

I would have to say my favorite technology tool at this time is Facebook. Our business as Realtors is to remain in front of our clients and potential clients as often as possible. Facebook allows for that opportunity. The skill sets of building and maintaining relationships has not changed, just a new tool to accomplish those skill sets in a more efficient manner. Saying this, it does not replace taking someone out to lunch, picking up the phone, or writing a personal note. Just another tool in our sales arsenal.

Hi John - Just one? Of course I love Active Rain and facebook, as I do get business from both and have made friends who do occasionally refer someone to me. But for "tool" as a thing, it might be the Supra lockbox and key that our MLS uses.
It does so many things: I can program the hours that I want someone to be able to have access to my listings. If a seller is sensitive about anyone entering at night, I can go onto MLS and check at any time to see who has opened my lockbox, and the time, date of each entry so I can call them for feedback. It gives me the name, company, and contact numbers. This also helps if a door is left unlocked or some other issue arises, because I can call the last agent to have entry and talk to them about it. So for happy calls or not-so-happy, I can keep touch with other agents and we can network to share information.
My blackberry is my most productive tool. I love it. Now I need a 12 step program from always checking on it too much.
My Palm Centro and Craigslist!! My office # forwards to my cel phone. I also have a cel signal booster on my house which is am surprised more agents don't utilized when they have spotty cel signals at home...
