Ah yes what to do with your furnaces condensate line? I see this all too often while doing inspections. In this photo we can clearly see what years of draining your condensate line into your crawlspace can do. I am sure the homeowners had no idea just how serious this situation was.

You guessed it. That is a gas line directly underneath where the condensate line has been draining for years. Needless to say as soon as I lifted my mask to get a whiff, I was out of there in seconds flat!

Very nice, and I am sure that both buyer and seller were happy that you found that during the home inspection.

That's a pretty "explosive" situation.  But I also hate to see the water dumped outside next to the foundation.  Most don't realize just how much water is generated each day.

That is definitely not a good situation. We never know what we are going to find when we enter that crawlspace.

I have a nose for natural gas leaks ( sometimes I think that I could go to work for the local utility company without one of those meter things :) Jeff has had me insist on calling the gas company to report leaks when i go along on showings a number of times over the last decade and 9 times out of 10... I am right on - there is a leak!

i would have smelled it too LOL

Great work - what if? you hadn't gone down there - great once of prevention here!

sincerely
