Luxury home sales slowed down a bit in August 2009 compared to previous months. This is not unusual as many people are on vacation during August.
Overall, there were 76 sales topping $1 million during the month of August 2009, down 15% from the 90 million dollar plus sales in July 2009.
AUGUST'S MOST EXPENSIVE SALES
Single Family Detached Homes:
- 7001 Benjamin Street, McLean, VA 22101 -- Sold on August 31st for $2,585,000.
Located in Langley Forest, this 7000 square foot home on close to an acre has fantastic landscaping, 6 bedrooms and 5 and a half bathrooms. The home was built in 2008.
- 1921 MacArthur Drive, McLean, VA 22101 -- Sold on August 24th for $2,275,000.
This brand new home sold for $100,000 under the asking price and features over 8000 square feet of living space, 6 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, a wrap-around porch, and 3 car garage.
- 7111 Elizabeth Drive, McLean, VA 22101 -- Sold on August 26th for $2,219,000.
Another brand new home in McLean with over 8000 square feet of living space. The home features custom made kitchen cabinets, tons of built-ins, designer bathrooms and much more.
- 6456 Linway Terrace, McLean, VA 22101 -- Sold on August 3rd for $2,200,000.
Sold for $99K under asking price, this 9700 square foot home was built in 2008 with 5 bedrooms, 5 full and 3 half bathrooms and a 4 car garage. It's also ready to have an elevator installed and has 4 fireplaces.
