My parents came to visit us in Austin last month and I showed them a poster board that Alyssa painted.  I joked with them about how they needed to take it home, frame it, and put it on the wall...

I was in Dallas last weekend, and what did I see on the wall?

Alyssa's modern art

It actually fits in perfectly with the rest of the art they have throughout the house, very modern.  Maybe it'll be worth a pretty penny one day!

Very cute picture and Alyssa's grand parents have class and style. She is one lucky little girl. Thanks for sharing this heart warming story.

Donna, I'm no art critic but I have seen some creations in art boutiques for thousands of dollars that don't rival this, REALLY!!!

Cool stuff Donna.  My Elissa has created quite a few masterpieces too but nothing "displayed" yet!

She might not be doing much painting for a bit though...she broke her little arm Monday night...it still causes knots in my stomach!

I love it!  I keep all the art work my grandchildren make for me but never frame it like that.  Guess I better get busy! :)

Ron, Oh no!  I hope she's ok!  What happened?

Jane, Don't you hate it when another grandparent shows you up??  Just kidding!  Yes, go get things framed!  Alyssa recognized it as soon as we walked into the room, and she's only 21 months old!

Are you sure that's not a Jackson Pollock?

It surely looks like one!

Great stuff Donna!

Donna - How sweet!  I need to do something like this with my kids, but then I'd have no wall space left after they all 4 left their mark!  LOL

Sincerely,

Kathleen

Donna,

To be quite honest it looks quite good.  I would think Salvidor Dali would be impressed.

Actually my first daugher had a similar one that was not quite as large that hung on our wall for years. A friend framed it for us, she was an art major at U of M and wanted to encourage her talent.

Craig, I'm sure, but maybe it's valued the same, if not thousands more!

Joseph, Maybe!

C & C, Not the first, but the first worthy of a frame.  I had her do another one yesterday when I kept her home from school because we've been sick.

Kathleen, You could pick the best 2 from each and spread them around.  Rotate them out every few months.

Nick, I'm sure she would love to!

Richard, You think?  Cool!

Missy, No one ever encouraged my talent, so I'm hoping Alyssa finds hers.

Richard,

I have a couple of Dali's and he certainly uses those colors.

Hi Donna... Alyssa definitely has an eye.  This does look very impressive!

Steve, THanks, though I'm not sure it's her eyes that she's using.  She just brushes as far as her little arms will go, and then I turn the board around so she can get all sides.

I bet you will have a entire wall filled with great art work that Alyssa made! I love framed master pieces from our children! They are the best and cheapest way to decorate any wall!

Hi Donna, Alyssa, is certainly not afraid of color, what a great way to encourage a child in the arts. Kudos to the grandparents for framing it, it must had made Alyssa very proud :)

Hey, I'd buy hers over some "art" I've seen in museums and galleries!

Terrie, I'm working on it, just have to find some frames.

John, Art should always be a part of their lives.  SO many fancy paints these days.

Cindy, For the right price!!  LOL

Cynthia, She pointed and said, "That's mine" and for a 21 month old to know that's hers, was amazing to me.

Cheri, Thanks, I'll let her know!
