Looks like you may have your wish - the forecast is calling for sunny skies!  I haven't been to the beach all year . . .  :-(

That does it! I'm going tomorrow! I live 5 minutes from the beach...I can see Peconic Bay from my house, but I haven't even put my toe in the water all summer!

Have a wonderful Labor Day all!

Lourdes,

That is a great shot. The waves are so active. I can feel the surf. :)

Hi Allegra, Thank you! Imagine a waterview and a short walk to the beach! I live a short drive from West Meadow Beach in Stony Brook, and go there as often as I can. When I have more time I prefer driving to the beautiful Ocean beaches (with fine sand) of the South Shore!

Thank you, Steve. Even in good weather, the waves are pretty active at Cupsogue Beach in Westhampton. I love going there! :)

West Meadow Beach! That brings up memories! I practically lived at the Old Field Club in the summer when I was a teen. I had friends who had a cottage down past West Meadow (are the cottages still there?) and I took Marine Bio at a little shack on the creek side through Ward Melville High School. I bet they don't offer that anymore! I need to come visit the Three Village area.

Allegra, the cottages are all gone, they were torn down a few years ago, 2004/05? (A very big deal in town when it happened). The road to the cottages has now been closed to traffic and is used by joggers, hikers, and cyclists. I am not aware if they still offer the Marine Bio at Ward Melville, my children are not there yet. You must visit the area soon! :)

That looks wonderful.  We only have lakes, not quite the same.  But, anytime one can go refresh in the water is good.

Thank you Brian! I agree with you, it doesn't need to be the ocean, a beautiful lake is just as great on a warm Summer day!
