The arrogance of some of these Congressmen keeps amazing me.

A student at Representative Baron Hill's town hall meeting stood up and asked why they weren't allowing her to do a video of the meeting.

Congressman Hill verbally slapped her down and said:

"This is my town hall meeting and I set the rules and I've had these rules

(laughter... the student still tries to say something)

Let me repeat that one more time.

This is my townhall meeting for you.

And you're not going to tell me how to run my Congressional office.

Now the reason I don't allow filming, is because, usually the films that are done end up on YouTube in a compromising position."

Unbelievable.

Tim,

It still ended up on YuTube and left a congressman in a very-very compromising position - LOL

I think our elected representatives are learning that we will ask questions and we deserve answers.  We are not their robots, regardless of our party.  Think back to the days before TV or Internet, the town hall was the only way to campaign.  Oh yeah, they had the newspaper then too.  Back then the newspapers were less politically correct as well.  Good post, keep up the fight for freedom of speech.

Tim - These congressmen are representing the people. If they really cared about what the people wanted and not their own agenda they shouldn't care that it is on youtube. I guess they are afraid for the people that elected them to see what they are really like. If it wasn't for the people that elected him he would not have any town hall meetings.

Jon,  Isn't YouTube and flip cameras great. It's the great equalizer. They can't say one thing at town meetings and then another thing someplace else.  We can all go back and see exactly what was said and compare it. I guess they're afraid of not being able to lie anymore.

Melissa,  I love all these people showing up a asking questions and demanding answers.  It brings joy to my heart.  Maybe there still is a chance for America.

Robert, You're exactly right.  That guy is there to represent the people in his district.  He has is backwards.  I hope he gets voted out becuase that kind of attitude is just plain wrong.
