If you leave a comment, Jim will visit your blog and comment. You're lucky to be living in your Mission Valley condo in the heart of San Diego because there is so much to do just minutes from your home.

The other nice thing about San Diego is our virtually year-round good weather. You don't need to wait for the holidays, vacation periods, summer, etc., to take a , which means you can take a "staycation" or a "one-tank trip."

Here are some ways that you can find things to do, places to go, and people to meet, and not too far from your Mission Valley condo:

  1. Go sightseeing - Sign up with a local tour company to see the highlights and the landmarks. In San Diego, Old Town Trolley Tours is a great way to see them.
  2. Bahia Resort, Mission BayBe active - There are many hiking, biking, and walking trails throughout San Diego, including several miles along the San Diego River that courses its way through the heart of Mission Valley, and just steps from your Mission Valley condo. You can also zip on over to the beaches or lakes and rent a canoe, paddle boat, kayak, or bike; or take a trip on many of the cruises and dinner trips. The Seal Splash that leaves from Old Town and the Bahia Belle cruise that leaves from the Bahia Resort on Mission Bay are highly recommended.
  3. Learn something new - Sign up for the various classes -- some are free -- offered by museums and parks. You can also simply go back to school by checking out the galleries, performances, and gardens at many of the universities and community colleges.
  4. Rent a boat or jet ski!Use those public facilities - There are public swimming pools, golf courses, and tennis courts throughout San Diego County. For many of them, all you have to do is walk in. Some require reservations, though, and a few do have small fees associated with using them.
  5. Visit other countries - You can do it right here in San Diego by visiting the embassies of other countries. Many of them will have cultural displays from their countries. Eating at ethnic restaurants also lets you visit other countries and enjoy their customs and food.
  6. Eat out and stimulate the economy - This keeps you from having to wash dishes!

Jim,

I always appreciate your photos of the water.  We don't get that very much here in Tucson.  LOL

Hi Jim: you said: "Eat out and stimulate the economy - This keeps you from having to wash dishes!" For me it's the other way around.  It's actually a treat to eat at home.  I would estimate that we cook a meal at home maybe once a month or once every two months so eating at home is the treat.  I guess I am doing my part to stimulate the economy!

:)

I'm not sure that anyone could disagree that San Diego is a great place to live and visit.  I've only been there once on vacation and it's still one of our most memorable places to visit.  The weather is so pleasant and the people are friendly and helpful.  Your city is fantastic.

Hey, Mike - I don't think we have any water of our own. It all comes from the delta between Oakland and Lake Tahoe and the Colorado River, and I think Japan sends us some via the Pacific Ocean.

Hey, Dan - Although I've lived here since 1988, I've never really explored it like I have been since I've been a member of ActiveRain. It's funny where motivation comes from. I actually think I've missed out on a lot in the 20 years that I didn't explore it.

Hey, Matt - I don't like cooking or washing dishes. Russel cooks except when we eat out, but when he cooks, I have to clean up. Fortunately, he's not a messy cook -- LOL.

Hey, Irene - You could always come visit us again this November for the NAR Convention here.
