September is a popular month in Carlsbad because of the weather - often our warmest month - but also for a variety of festivals and events. 

Art Splash is one of the favorite, and unique, art festivals that are held in Carlsbad each year, and this year, the 7^th, will be on Saturday and Sunday September 26^th and 27^th in the same location on Armada Drive overlooking the famed Flower Fields (which are just dirt at the moment). 

Art Splash draws a big crowd every year to enjoy music and dancing, many food offerings, and of course that many artists who are there to display their works of art which include glass creations, sculpture, jewelry, paintings and so much more.

A highlight of Art Splash, which makes it rather unique, is the chalk street art competition and display. Folks can sponsor different squares, and artists, with moneys raised going to help support area art programs. 

The Taste at Art Splash will also be held this year on Saturday with a good crowd expected to sample food from well over a dozen area restaurants. Tickets are $20 to attend the Taste at Art Splash, but Carlsbad's Art Splash itself is free. 

If you are in the area, Carlsbad's Art Splash is definitely a great time, and the chalk art is amazing. The view over the flower fields to the ocean ain't bad either.

Hours:  10 - 6 on Saturday and 10 - 5 on Sunday.
