We hear about being green all the time.  And I'm guilty of wanting to do the right thing but not completely following through.  Sure I have the grocery totes and use those.  In fact, that is one of my giveaway items to the community.  The bag logo is below & I can tell you everyone has enjoyed those bags!  I do recycle magazines and newspapers to the bins in the parking lots around the area.  But I need to ramp it up a bit and take total advantage of the Kingwood Recycling Center.

Located in the parking lot of the Metro Park 'n Ride, it's just beyond the Kingwood Library.  It can be accessed from W. Lake Houston Pkwy.  Bins are available to collect Paper, Glass, Metal & Plastic Bottles & Containers (#1, #2, #3, #4, #5 & #7 - not #6).  It is open from noon on Friday to Monday morning. 

In Walden on Lake Houston, one of the communities served by Harris County MUD #153, they've been asked by the MUD district if they are interested in a community recycling program for Walden.  The cost is only $3.09 per month, added to the water bill.  This is something Walden residents have asked about for many years.  I hope they are able to get it off the ground. 

Also, new to the area is a Real Farmer's Market that will begin on October 7, 2009.  It will be located in downtown Humble on Main Street and Avenue G every Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM.  This is something else that many residents of Atascocita have been wanting.  I can't wait to see what they have to offer.
