Oooooh! Now if this spider's name is Charlotte, I'm ok with it LOL Great picture, you've inspired me to get out the camera again.

Cynthia, UGH!! I have to admit having plastic surgery from a brown recluse bite I'm not a big spider fan. I was a good Mom though and let our daughter have a pet tarantula. Well actually she was away at college but I let her bring it home when she came to visit.

Hey, Cynthia...that is a scary picture but then again these guys are around to gobble up all the insects that bother us! great picture!

Hi Cynthia, That is an interesting photo and one that looks a bit intimidating. Are those grapes in the background. Great color and composition. That is not an easy subject to find and even more difficult to get the photo to read as well as you have done it.

I really like how you captured the detail in the web ... but I'm not sure I would stay around for too long to hear the 'greeting.'

Cynthia, I hope you had a good zoom lens, I couldn't see myself getting close to this thing. I hate spiders and any creepy, crawly bugs---they're fine as long as they stay outside where they belong.

Cynthia Morning might be a littlt early for mr to run into him/her. I assume they come in him/her Karen

I'm always surprised at the reaction spiders generate in people. They've never bothered me.

I started out the door one morning and there it was---the sun was shining into the web--it really caught my eye and for once I remembered to get my camera and capture the moment!

As long as they stay outside, I'm ok with them but when they get in my house well, that's another story!

Wow! He's a big one! We have quite an assortment of spiders around here. Some good ... some not so good! LOL But they are interesting nonetheless.

Spiders just freak me out. Recently we had a black widow in our mail box at the office. I didn't get the camera, I got the bug spray.

Love the Spider...even though I cringe when I walk through one of those webs early in the morning....

p.s. are those dark spots the "spider's eyes"?

No it is not grapes---it is water droplets in the web!

As I've said I kept my distance but this fellow did not seem to see me at all.

That is not only a very big web but also a large spider. Is it one to be fearful of?

Cynthia....ewwwwwww, that's kinda close dontcha think? Glad you used your zoom.....mine would have to be really a long zoom. ;-)

I'm not a big fan of bugs but the summery weather keeps them in season for too long. I just came back from Hilton Head and, unfortunately, I had a palmetto bug that took the trip back to NC! Ugh!
