Susan: They have funny names and most people go huh! But my 6 year old grandson and 4 year old granddaughter named them so the white one (girl) is named Chela (Chay La) and the black one (boy) is named Bubbie because that's what my grandson and graddaughter actually call each other from the time they started speaking. Thanks for asking.
What cuties! We just got back from a walk with our own sweet pooch who we rescued one year ago from Texas during Hurricane Ike. He's entered in the Cutest Dog Contest this week and he needs votes! Everyone can vote for Duke F. once a day this whole week. Here's his link:
Hi Gretchen: How great that you've rescued a sweet furbaby. I'll be going to your link to vote each day.
Tony and Darcy: Thank you. They are cute and they are a mess too! LOL
Susan: I had written a post asking for names and really got some great suggestions. So many that I wanted to use but how could I turn down my grandkids. LOL
Hi Donna...Winston was 15 in May, we took him to a seaside town, called Parksville up island last week, for what we call his holiday. The Beaches in Parksville go way out when the tide goes out, and leave large puddles. At one time we used to say to ourselves, "we're sure we could leave him here all day and he would not miss us" meaning he would get lost in time running up and down the beach and throw the puddles.
This past week, he enjoyed being there but no free wheeling up and down the beach. You see he has Spinal Arthritis and his spine is fused with calcium(it is fused so no flexibility) so he only stayed on the Beach for maybe a hour, it was no longer fun for him. We know he may not be with us too many more years and wanted to take him to his favorite place once more.
Fred: Winston looks so young. He really looks like a happy dog and his longevity is a testament t how well he's loved. I'm so glad you shared an update about him. Aren't cocker spaniels the best ?!
Carole: They've been together since birth and when one gets out of the other one's sight, they watch intently for the other one to come back. Especially my little boy, he really seems to be the protector of all.
Tom: Yes, so much like little children. These two fight over a ball when there is a second, identical ball lying just inches away. So funny.
Georgina: Thank you. They really are cute and would be lost without each other since they have never been separated since birth. I got them at 8 weeks old and now they are 18 months old. They still crowd into the same bed together.
