One of my favorite website applications ever has to be Picnik.com. I probably use it every single day at least once, and would be one of the sites I'd choose if asked, "Kim, if you only had five websites to take with your on a desert island, what would they be?"

Did I mention Picnik is free? (I have their upgraded/pro version - but they offer quite a bit with their free version as well.)

Sure, I have Adobe Photoshop and I also use that quite a bit when I need to. But for most of my jobs now - I'm a picnik gal.

Some quick and easy things you can do:

  • Resize photos
  • Crop photos
  • Add text, stickers on top of photos (lots of fun fonts)
  • Add frames
  • Add effects - like some blurring, neon, black and white, tinting, and more

Just upload your photo via computer file or Flickr and have some fun !!!

Hi Debbie - FREE and a favorite has to top the list - eh? Some free sites out there have so many pop ups or they are so limiting it isn't worth the frustration. But yes.... do have some fun... .and show off your creations :)

Have to really check this picnik out. I just read another blog about the new slideshow feature for a premium account.  Really cool stuff -- and pretty cheap, too.

Russ - Well, if you get stuck while you are designing your new home marketing or something - you know just where to go :)

Barbara - Yes - that is a fun feature too. I like that you can do so much with the free- they let you play - then you just must upgrade to spray tan yourself, haha.

Susan - Hey Girlio ! Nice to see you :)  I'm hanging in there among many rocky hills to climb lately - but all in all - very blessed !!!!  Are you good ?

KIM:I totally agree with you that Picnic is  FANTASTIC Useful SITE. I learned about it as a Newbie back in February 2009 from AR blogger . DONNA BIGDA from Connecticut my neighboring state. She wrote a tutorial about how to make a banner border for our AR site using Picnic. I have been using Picnic ever since Love it:)

Kim, you are my photo guru... I have so much to learn about this, but I'm so glad you've got the 411.  I am going to dedicate at least 1/2 day at some point this month to all things photo (Flickr, Picnik, etc.) and I'm adding this post to my "reading list".  Thanks!

Thanks for the tip.  It amazes me how much I learn from this group.  I love it!  It took me nearly five years to (semi) master PhotoShop, but sometimes a fast, easy approach for simple things is a must.  I'll try picnik.com for sure!

Howdy there Kim

I do believe this is the first post of yours, that I've came along to read and to leave a comment on. Hopen to check it out this weekend. I've got some wedding photos, that I took last Sat. Of my ladys son's wedding. And video. I usual use Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 or Paint Shop Pro Photo.

I sure will let you know what I think and how I like using it.

I just discovered Picnik the other day and I absolutely love it!  I like it because you dont have to download anything to use it (on free version, dont know about the professional version).
