Howdy Folks! It's the 2009 State Fair of Texas

It's that time of year again, and this is one of my favorite times of the year in Dallas... The 2009 State Fair of Texas will take place at Dallas' Fair Park from September 25 to October 18, 2009.

The State Fair offers more fun and more calories than you can imagine. There's seemingly an endless amount to do and see (and eat) at the fair, and when you are done riding the rides, playing the games, choosing your next car at the auto show and checking out all the agricultural and crafts exhibits, be sure to check out the Chevrolet Main Stage for some great musical entertainment. Opening night this year will feature American Idol finalist Jason Castro.

General admission for the fair is $15 (Children and Seniors are $11) and Self Parking in the official lots is $10.

Don't forget that you don't have to pay full price if you check out their main website and see what the sponsors are on any given day. Coke day, Dr Pepper day, and many more discounts.

I want a funnel cake!! Ship one down to me! Powdered Sugar only, no fruit stuff!

The state fair is one of these things you have to do each year, at least once. Lots of fun!

I was at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto on Saturday - and one thing I didnt et achance to do was go on the Ferris Wheel - I love them and I love your backdrop here :) One day I'd like to visit the Texas State fair - is it the largest in the US?

Hi Liz... I believe that it is. The Ferris Wheel on my wallpaper is from Fair Park in Dallas where the state far is held.
