Giant Panda What is THIS? That's was the holler I heard from my buyer as they walked in to the garage.

We call came running.

This is a GIANT panda, that has a 2 ft high stand, I'm guessing this non-too-friendly looking panda in his stand is well over 5 feet tall.

The real questions is -- WHAT WAS THIS PANDA USED FOR????  WHY IS IT IN THE GARAGE?

Will the previous owners leave it for my buyers if they get thier offer accepted on this Short Sale?  Maybe we can negotiate it into the offer?

So what is the strangest thing you've seen????? Can you top the Giant Panda?

That's fun! I've walked in to homes and found flooded basements, stuff on the floor that should not have been, a  menagerie of pets, clutter, a homeless person seeking shelter, you name it....but never a Panda! You could say it made the home unforgettable!

I have one. I walked into an REO that was assigned to me. It was eiry walking in as the electricity was powered off by the city and to my surprise I walk into the first floor bedroom, I noticed the entire floor was covered with plant soil. At least 3 dozens or more plastic bags filled with plant soil. And there was a big aluminum hose coming from the dining area to the closet.

There have been a few odd ball things I've discovered in a home but, the one I always remember is:  after knocking to be sure no one was home, clients in tow, calling out hello because the house smelled like a fresh lit cigarette...and there she was, a somewhat startled seller fresh out of the shower (in robe) peering around the foyer wall with cigarette in mouth which dropped to the carpet...slightly awkard moment...she had forgotten about the appointment.  Later in the car my clients and I had a good laugh at the look on her face when she saw strangers on her side of the front door.  Truly a Kodak moment!

I've always had fears of starteling someone in the shower.  But it was a bit different....he was asleep in the bed.  I made it out of that one without a dent, he didn't even wake up.  Never knew I had been there!  I should be a cat burgler maybe.  Would make more money at that.

Susan!  Great question.  I can't think of something as interesting as what you found.  I'll always remember this one LOL.

Interesting!

I found a dead lizard today, perfectly dehydrated and completely petrified, on the living room carpet.

This is going to be a very interesting blog when I post the story that leads to the discovery of the lizard!  It's coming soon!

Funny you should bring this topic up, because it was the subject of one of my best stories gathered for my book, ALL IN A DAY'S WORK FOR REAL ESTATE AGENTS--HUMOROUS & HEARTWARMING STORIES. It's a collection of funny, bizarre and touching agent "war" stories and there's one where an agent takes a family to see a vacant listing and finds...a casket. Not a homemade, put out at Halloween kind of casket, but a high-end model from a funeral home. Story goes on to relate what happened next on how each of the 5 people there reacted. Priceless!!

A giant panda ... everyone should have one.  What an oddity.  The real story must be a doozy.

Susan, maybe it's a Scarepanada!  Look at that expression.  It would probably stop any burglar dead in his tracks!!

Hey, I recently lost my 5 foot Panda.  Is it black and white?  Kind of pudgy?  Wow, how did it wonder all the way to Tracy from Marin?  Thanks Susan, I'll call you to make arrangements. Also, keep your eye open for a kangaroo wearing a bow-tie and Converse sneakers.

Those eyes look creepy.  Maybe they promoted the Chinese Restaurant "Panda Express".
