I realize the values of houses have increased but never in my wildest dreams did I believe insurance would jump up so much.  In my home community of Slidell Louisiana home sales have been close to stagnant ever since Katrina and insurance rates have soared through the roof.  I just got a quote from an insurance agent and WOW I don't know if I can afford it now (the Property).  Anybody else in the country have problems like this?

John:

I think everyone's homeowners took a jump last year.  I know mine did, but nothing like what you are experiencing in LA , FL or Mississippi.  I can't imagine how difficult that is.

A bunch of insurance companies have left California.  Now in Sacramento FEMA is revising the flood maps and insurance is going to change for thousands of home owners are in for an increase.
