Cool in the Pool Program to Provide Added Relief When Outside
Temperatures Reach 100 Degrees Fahrenheit or More

Sacramento, California, June 13, 2007--As part of its Cool in the
Pool program, the Department of Parks and Recreation will keep pools
open until 7p.m. whenever temperatures reach 100 Degrees Fahrenheit or
more.

Thirteen pools will participate in the Cool in the Pool program. 
They will remain open for recreational swimming between the hours of
1p.m and 7p.m., when the previously mentioned conditions apply.  This
summer Cool in the Pool program will begin on Monday, June 18th.
