I can do twitter and facebook in less than 15 minutes. Blogging is never longer than an hour. Although important, I don't let social media interfere with my work as an agent...my clients are my priority.
Michael,
I think this is true for the majority of agents. Thanks for your comment!
Dorie
I will be adding face book and twitter. Customers first.
Good luck and success

Lou,
Thanks for your comment
"I can't help but wonder how productive they are in the real estate market."
I absolutely agree and it's the main reason I do not post more often! We have to work...right? Great post and very relevant! Should be featured!
Hi Dorie:
I just mainly concentrate on AR. Just spend a few minutes on the others, every so often.
Try to keep it all to an hour a day...
Sometimes an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening.
Russell,
Your posts are always worth waiting for! It is hard to spend more than an hour + a day. There are just not enough hours for any private time if your busy with real estate!
Hi Toula,
I also agree that AR is the main place to spend most of the time. I think an hour most every day and sometimes more is doable but there are only so many hours in a day! You always have the best photo's!!
My last five buyers found me through social networking/blogging so I think it's worth it but only if it's something you really enjoy!
What I like to do is blog about questions clients ask a lot so I have a "notebook" if you will of FAQs on my blog so when I meet with a new client I can ask them to read over my posts and it helps them get up to speed rather than trying to cover all the topics at once. Makes things a little easier on the client and me :-)
Maria,
Good thoughts and congrats on 5 buyers finding you through social networking/blogging.You FAQs on your blog sounds like a great idea..continued success to you.
Seeing as I work with providing Realtors health insurance through the NAR, social networking has become a very important tool. Many people that have signed up for the RCHI plans have contacted me about questions. Many that haven't signed up, but are inquiring about it also do the same. Seemingly, I always get interested in looking at Realtors profiles and how they reach out. Everyone is unique that way, cause you can definitely tell the young generation Realtors compared to the elder generation. Much more time gets consumed on the social networks. Haven't ever asked how effective, but I can't imagine it being more productive. Especially with the "new-ness" of the social media tide. If anything, they are positioning themselves better for future twists in the Real Estate market.
I resisted the social media platform for a while thinking that this could be a waste of my valuable time. Now I see it as a great opportunity to both connect and reconnect with my community for very little cost of time and money. Admittedly, I do have virtual help with the parts of this that aren't quick and easy for me, but I love the results.
