We just finished our latest staging project.  In real estate...time is money so we were on a tight schedule to get in and finish the job in 2 weeks.  Thanks to the help of a great staging team and subs and we managed to get it done! Yeah!!!

Take a look at some of the before and afters:

The Kitchen was dark due to the dark cabinets, black range and refrigerator, and black counter tops.  It also appeared cluttered and small when it was well laid out and offered a great work space.  The hardwood floors were showing lots of wear.

We had the hardwood floors refinished, painted the kitchen cabinets, packed away the personal items, and repainted a soft beige with yellow undertones to add warmth but a bit of light.  The outcome was a kitchen that is move-in ready.

The Dining Room was painted a pumpkin orange and the furniture was dark and heavy for the room.

We removed the window treatments, removed the top of the hutch, refinished the hardwood floors, and painted the same color as the kitchen.  The results were amazing...

The family room had dark wood paneling and dated, blue carpet. There were also lots of personal collections that needed to be packed away.

We painted the paneling, packed up the personal items, had the carpet replaced with a light neutral carpet, and added a large piece of contemporary art to compliment the sofa. This room now has that WOW factor!

If you are thinking of selling your home give us a call.  We can put together a plan for your home that is within your budget and time constraints.

WOW for sure, Wanda! Every room is better than the next. That family room looks like it's in a completely different house! BTW, is that a moose on the bar? If so, we may have had its cousin in a staging we did a month or so ago.

Great transformation Wanda!  You took years off the look of this home while minding the budget.  Lightening up the space with paint made a huge difference.  Great work!

I don't know why some object to painting panelled walls and dark cabinets when the transformation is so amazing.  It truly is now buyer ready.  Great job Wanda!

Thanks for the responses.  I am sorry to be so late getting back to everyone.

Cathy - The carpet really did make a huge change in this home.  It amazing me how much little changes can totally change a room.

Virginia - You are absolutely correct.  With a good team and a few days it is possible to make a huge difference.

Diana- Dark paneling and cabinetry is usually one of the first things we look at when we look at affordable changes to improve any home.

Michele - is it sort of like a facelift for an older home :)

Karen - thanks...more and more sellers are seeing the value in painting out the dark cabinets and paneling.

Kym - I love the idea...thanks.  I am certainly going to include that on my new web site that I am lauching next month.

Kate Wheeler - thanks...it did make a difference.

Kath Case - we always start each large staging project with a schedule and a specific plan, there are always set backs but we do what it takes to get it done.  We did work through the weekends and even Labor Day to meet our deadline>

Kathy - Thanks..and thanks for the featured post :)

Leanne - Thank you...it does always make a difference.

Beverly - Great way to put it!

Painting made a huge difference! You made some other smart choices like removing the top of the hutch. That can really help update furniture and I'm sure it really helped brighten the dining room. Great before and after photos!

Thanks Cathy - I felt the hutch was just too overpowering and heavy for the room.  It did make a huge difference.

Lori - You are exactly right!  Paint is one of the cheapest fixes with the most dramatic results.  Thanks!

Preparing your property for sale

Hi Wanda, congratulations on the feature of your work. You really did transform this property in to one that is light and bright. By doing so, it now shows well on line, you potential buyers can see the details in the rooms and how spacious the home really is.Job well done.

I agree with Kym, if you are doing a lot of kitchen makeovers post them to your site for your potential clients to see the before and afters. Nothing like photos to show the difference.

I recently painted a basement that had dark barnboard from floor to ceiling in about 600 sqare feet. The owner was reluctant to paint but the results speak for themselves. He commented that if he had known it would look so good he would have painted years ago.
