rock n roll marathon virginia beach

I did it!  I completed the Virginia Beach Rock N Roll 1/2 Marathon this past Sunday! What can I say?  Finishing a 1/2 Marathon is a true feeling of accomplishment when you cross the finish line.

I will have to admit I was at first scared out of my mind because I had no training prior which was really stupid on my part but I was talked into it by some friends of mine.  They are the kind of friends that push me to always do better in my career as well as my personal life.  I have gotton to know these special ladies through a weekly mastermind group that we do and they have changed my life and my outlook on life!

We made a goal that we were to complete this race together and cross the finish line as a team!  Our goal was to finish and to not finish last!  Well...3 hours and 22 mins later we completed our goal!

And now I have a new goal set for next year...to beat 2009 time - however, I will train next time!

Thank you to all of the bands, volunteers, Kimberly, Acada and all the runners we met along the way!  It was a great experience that I will always treasure!

Congratulations.... I'm so proud of you. I started this year with a goal of a 2-year preparation for a local marathon. Guess that's gone down the tubes with all that's going on in the business.

Loreena - thanks!  And you should totally do it!  I am not so sure about the marathon yet...but the 1/2 is definitely doable!

Naoma, That is wonderful!!  You must be feeling a great sense of achievement.  I would be if I did something like that.

Very cool. I'm not much of a runner, but I'm sure it made it easier with a few friends. Congrats on finishing and good luck next year.

Congratulations!  I started training for a marathon August of 08.  I got up to 18 miles before I got pregnant and came down with pneumonia.  Baby is here now and I am cleared to start exercizing again, have to start over, walked a mile carrying baby this morning, going to take a while to get back to where I was last December.

Keep it up, bet you can do more too as I am guessing you are likely addicted!  I know I was and I never got to participate in an actual event, the half marathons and more that I did I did all by myself each Saturday, but I am guessing that is what you are doing now too!

Keep it up!
