NAR and NCAR Conventions etc....

OK, someone fill me in....is it worth your time to attend a National Convention for NAR? How about a regoinal even through your state board? ie) The North Carolina Association Of REALTORS (NCAR) held one last year in Myrtle Beach, SC. These seem interesting and I am thinking about attending. Not many agents I have asked go to these.

Once you've seen the caliber of speakers and events and trade shows at the NAR, the state associations pale in comparison. That being said, I've found some local or regional boards, such as Miami, put on a fabulous conference/convention that is well worth attending. You just have to go and check them out yourself.

I usually go to the State conventions. They are helpful. You can meet other real estate agents from across the state. Sometimes this comes in handy because you may get a referral or give a referral. I have never been to a NAR convention. I am planning on attending my first one this year in Las Vegas.

I agree with Sharon. I've been to NAR almost every year since 2000 and find that each one brings new ideas, new products and helps me focus on business.

Just about anyone with a "name" in the real estate business is there. Stewart Title runs some great technology classes and plenty of suppliers have receptions and parties that are just wonderful.

And the cost for the entire convention is pretty reasonable. Since it's in Vegas this year, plane fares should be cheap and there's literally millions of hotel rooms in town.
