Wordless Wednesday - Welcome to My Branch

Bald Eagle with a Crow on a Branch

Montana Bald Eagle

Bald Eagles are a frequent sight along the Clark Fork River. They seem to come back to the same areas so we know where to look for them and enjoy seeing them on our drive. We loved that he was sharing his branch with a crow - that was the first time we've seen that!

Here's Another Bald Eagle Photo that Kevin took at a different time.

What amazing birds! You are so lucky to have them in your area. I have seen them along the Mississippi River visiting my son in college in Illinois and it's amazing.

Thanks Karen - they are amazing birds, we love to watch them - especially when they're fishing :)

Looks like the crow knew its place in the pecking order, though, Kevin and Monica.  Beautiful close-up of a bald eagle.  We don't get to see them in the wild here.

Eagles are a common sight here, too, but one that never grows old.  Seasonally they come in droves to certain areas of Lake Coeur d'Alene to feast on the spawning salmon.  Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Thanks Liz, I guess bald eagles must not be "snow birds" and winter in Arizona.

Hi Janna - thanks for visiting our blog as well, we have even seen bald eagles in Coeur d'Alene - beautiful city.

Thanks Rene - good to see you on our blog :)

How cool that you got to take this photo!  I don't remember ever seeing a bald eagle.   I hope to experience that some day.

Kevin & Monica,

You captured some great photos of the bald eagle.  The first one is quite interesting.  I wonder how long it took the crow to realize that if he did not leave the branch quickly, he might end up as dinner.   Thank you for sharing these.

Thank you for all of the great comments. Gerry - I don't think it took the crow very long, he didn't overstay his welcome for sure.
