Bad publicity is better than no publicity
It is because of that statement, I won't be sharing the name of the movie, but I would like to share this story with you.
When it comes to movies and tv shows, my range of interest is rather narrow. I prefer comedy and funny sitcoms are great.
A couple weeks ago, while shopping with my husband, we found ourselves digging through the $5 movie bin at Walmart. We chose a couple comedy's to add to our home movie collection.
Sunday night we decided to watch one of the movies; the cover raved about how it was "best comedy of the year" etc.
Less than 20 minutes into the movie, the most horiffic murder scene played. I quickly covered my eyes with both my hands and held them there, then, I peeked between my fingers after a bit, at most definately the wrong time, and quickly covered my eyes again....
A man was being "Scalped", yes, while his bimbo wife set in the bedroom watching a soap opera....
My husband turned the movie off, we ejected it ....
The next day, I decided that the only place for that movie was with the garbage....
It is worth neither my time or aggravation to drive 25 miles to return the most disgusting movie I have seen in years..... to retrieve $5.00 + 6% sales tax.
Why am I writing this?
To remind myself, and inform you, to carefully read the lable before you make a purchase....
I refuse to subject my eyes to such disgusting things.
There are so many beautiful things to look at, just step outside, look up, look down, look around! If you live in the country, you will see something beautiful regardless of the time of day!
What really makes me furious is that scene is BURNED into my memory, which seems to have no delete button... I still remember like it was yesterday a horrific movie I saw part of over 20 years ago.... that's why I do NOT intentionally watch crap like that.
I'm not AFRAID, I know it's not REAL.... I just don't want to see it.... My eyes don't like it, my memory can't stand it, it's just NOT FOR ME! I don't want to see murders or fights or stuff like that whether it's real or fake.
I would appreciate movie lables being marked a little more clearly so I know what I'm buying.
The moral of the story is READ EVERY WORD CAREFULLY.... whether it's a movie lable or a sales contract! Or any product for that matter.........
