That is one huge Jelly fish. I am thinking that it would probably hurt just a little bit.

Hi Ann, Just looking at this jelly fish photo hurts. I almost stepped on a snake once when I was taking a solitary walk and looking up at a canopy of trees. I stopped and started backing up slowly until it slithered away.

Ouch Ann, I have stepped on one of these before and managed not to get stung, it felt so squishy and I kinda liked it!

Ooo that would hurt alright Ann! Jelly fish are not creatures I want to encounter...I don't swim in the ocean when I can't see through the water because of them and other yucky critters! :-)

Ann, That is a great photo and such a good close up. You're right about not stepping on this guy; I think it would hurt!!

It's guys like that made water shoes so popular! Excellent photo -- I have never seen a jelly fish quite so close up.

My, that's a big guy. I'm told you can pick them up as long as you don't touch the tentacles but have never tried it.

Looks like a moon jellyfish. Although jellyfish have a reputation for stinging humans, not all humans react to jellyfish stings. However, in those who do, reaction can range from slight discomfort to death, so it's best just to stay away from them unless they are in the water behind glass at an Aquarium.

Hi Ann, I would not want to step on it - that's a great photo. I think they are interesting and beautiful when they are in the water, though- and like Russel said, at the aquarium!

Now that should be in the Name that Photo contest! :-)
