There have been some empty billboards around the Murphy, NC area, but Allison Billboards is taking advantage of this space to spread a positive message to all that pass by them. Here are two of my favorites. One of my favorite quotes is one by Michael J. Fox..."I am careful not to confuse excellence with perfection. Excellence, I can reach for; perfection is God's business."And if you haven't read Randy Pausch's book, The Last Lecture, or see the video - it's a must. I'm inspired by these and hope you are too.

We have been seeing alot of these messages in Augusta and Waynesboro Georgia Too. I like it it so beats negativity or let me sell you something you don't want to buy.

Billboard advertising is expensive and I don't know if it pays for a small company to advertise on them.

I just saw the Michael fox one here in Maryland coming back from the ocean. The message caught my eye. This guy has the best attitude I have ever seen when it comes to lifes challenges. he is an inspiration for sure.

Hi Ginger. I'm glad to see something that some might see as a negative, being used in a positive way.

Thanks for your comments Marie and Russ. Billboard advertising is very expensive and we never used them and instead put our money into other avenues of marketing. Empty billboards are everywhere now though, so it's nice to see them using encouraging and motivating statements. Everyone can use that message.

Hi Lee and Carol  ~ I'm no fan of billboards in general but have enjoyed seeing messages like these - in fact I did a post myself about one I came across recently.  It's a smart move by the billboard owner - definitely builds goodwill.

Hi Liz. Smart move it is because I'm actually happy seeing these billboards around. I missed your post on them, but liked the one on bumper stickers.

Lee & Carol,  I am another who is not a fan of billboards - but it is nice to see these positive messages as a change from the normal advertising.

Change can be positive! Not just with billboards, but with the market and our attitude. Have a great day!
