Marketing: Visual Stills or Motion - How to best hook internet home buyers

Photos are now the norm online--everyone has them and those that are using professionals are probably doing better as a result.

But with video becoming increasingly popular amongst top-selling agents, many agents are looking to get in on the wave and be at the forefront.

In fact, videos are more effective and memorable because they contact the prospect through two senses (audio and visual) whereas photos only work visually. Also, videos offer the element of surprise (think panning across a room to reveal what's beyond, etc) whereas photos are wysiwyg. And videos incorporate natural movement which helps keep the viewers attention.

in general, if done professionally with nice music and narration, and if properly compressed so to reduce pausing between loads, video is very effective.

And it's affordable.

We specialize in real estate video and for just over $200 provide your listing with an impressive video which we host for you or give you the link to host on your site.

Peter,

What types of properties are best suited to video?

Hi Brian--

That's a great question. Unlike photos, that are two dimensional and general do not convey relationships between rooms, video gives the viewer a feeling for the property. A slow pan and then a short walk thru can do much, much more than a several photos. Amongst other things, it conveys the relationship between rooms. That said, videos are suited for all properties, big and small. And with affordable pricing (I offer video at just over $200), it's a good option, especially as more and more home buyers use the net to do their research.

But, to answer your question, video is appropriate for all properties, and best suited for larger homes.
