"Call It the Office of Management and 'Blog-It'"

Who woulda thunk it, or maybe it was inevitable! The Washington Post is my homepage and today there is a story uncovering the Government's Office of Management and Budget (OMB) using bloggers to try to get some 'pork' out of government (good luck on that one!)  The beauty of the process is explained at: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/03/AR2006100301313.html This is pretty heady  stuff!  Imagine our government keeping us busy into the night, checking for waste and pork in contract proposals?  That is the kind of thing OMB is envisioning, with all proposals of $25k or more being on line in one location, for us to be able to 'out' the unnecessary stuff in each one.

Anyway, check it out, read what happened when one one Senator put a hold on the blogs and the outcry that came until HE was outed!  Gotta love it.

Interesting article. I haven't had time to search for Congressmen Foley in political blogs...but, I'm betting there's a ton of stuff going on.

Just imagine that we lowly bloggers might have the power to bring down some high and mighty people. Wow...what a concept!

Pretty amazing isn't it. It sounds like they created blogs just to get voter comments on one topic? Something I never thought of in my wildest dream! The 'next' wave in voter participation! I'm sure there is a lot of comment on Mr. Foley lol.
