REMEMBER LOVE STORY?   Three months ago a client contacted me after reading my posts and my bio on Acitve Rain looking to buy a home in Florida.  She felt we made a good fit. There was a connection.  After discussing her needs wants and financial ability, I began to send her some of the possible choices that may work best for her. She loved St. Cloud, Florida, and Loved vintage homes, and loved the idea of buying here.  Eventually, she flew in and we spend a day viewing the homes she had selected and she fell in love with one.

IT IS BETTER TO HAVE LOVED AND LOST ..THAN NEVER TO HAVE LOVED AT ALL ...OR IS IT?

We wrote an offer on one and she returned home to wait for an answer.  After several weeks, a week before closing, the sellers decided to file for bankruptcy protection-the deal died instantly. (cough cough)Love may mean "NEVER HAVING TO SAY YOU'RE SORRY" But it is not very comforting.   She was crushed-jilted at the alter and broken hearted.

BUT WHERE THERE IS LOVE THERE IS HOPE

Subsequently, I found her another home.  She didn't quite love this one as much, but decided to make an offer, this time sight unseen.  Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and still her love seemed unrequited. It was a short sale.

THE LOVE YOU SEEK MAY ONLY BE A DAY AWAY St. Cloud Historic Home-AstewartRealtor

It "was" a beautiful, majestic historic home with lush tropical garden and a regal sense of self which over time hadn't been loved the way it once was.  I knew instantly, this was the home she would fall in love with. The following day this home was relisted.

I sent her the information- but the home I knew she would love, seemed veiled in a shroud of mystery. There were only 3 photos all of the outside.  She is a thousand miles away.

She falls in love with it and makes an offer that evening.  Knowing how fast homes are selling in St. Cloud Florida, the listing agent and I worked late into the evening.

WHEN IT IS MEANT TO BE

The following morning, the offer was accepted.  She was elated!  She had truly found a home she loved.  She knew it was the real thing because she could hardly sleep at all that night.

She sent me several emails that evening.

They were all Love Letters.

  • She loved I was willing to work late to help her make a deal.
  • She loved that I knew exactly what she was looking for.
  • She loved I was willing to go above and beyond to help her.
  • And she loved the 60 photos I had taken of the house and garden to show her what was hidden behind the exterior.
  • She loved telling her friends and family, she had a great REALTOR.
  • And I loved her love letters.

AN IRONIC TWIST OF FATE  the lender of this short sale got tired of waiting for the previous buyers financing to be approved. They instructed the listing agent to put it back in the market and find a cash buyer. My buyer was a cash buyer.  So the home which had eluded her in her search eventually found its way back to her.

She closes next week.

Most of my buyers are long distance and it is amazing how many will buy a home sight unseen after developing a relationship  and learning to trust our instincts- I just love happy endings. Don't you?

Wow, what a great story and another case of banks dragging their feet and not being cooperative and on the same page as the realtors! good for you!

Melissa - Thank goodness for unanswered prayers- the bank never made a deicision on the second house she had an offer on.Had they made a faster decision... she never would have made a cash offer to buy this one (the one she really loved)

Had the bank which controlled this one not lost pateince with the buyer trying to finance it-she would have also never had a chance to  jump in and live happily ever after
