Meadow Pointe resident, Karoline Byler, is about to become a mother again....to six new babies, sextuplets!!  Married since 1998, Karoline and Ben, have one daughter, Zoe, who is four years old.  Last year she made a request for a new baby brother or sister...well, guess what!!!  She's getting five new brothers and one sister!!!

Karoline's story came to my attention through a mutual friend, Eva Lobel.  Once Eva heard of the situation, she felt compelled to help.  Because having some many children at once will obviously cause significant financial strain on the family, Eva and a few ladies from her "Mom's Club" are putting together a fund raising event / super baby shower.  Families of multiple births are aware of the higher health risks of the babies and the mother, possible birth defects, and don't forget...feeding and changing six babies!!!  It makes me tired even thinking about it!!

The Byler family has been featured on the local news and newspapers because the significance of these births.  Friends and family are preparing to help Karoline and Ben with babysitting schedules, gifts, prayers, and emotional support.  Karoline is expected to give birth around mid-August, which will be at 28 weeks.  This gives the babies a chance to develop and get past the critical stages.

If you are interested in making a donation, there will be a Fund Raising Event / Baby Shower on July 28, 2007, from 10-3pm, at Idlewild Baptist Church.  You can also make an on-line donation from their website.  For more information on the family and event, click here.

Lori - I can not imagine six babies at one time. I had four, one at a time; that was good enough for me. I pray this family has six wonderfully healthy babies. It sounds like they have a tremendous support system in people like you. Congrats on having one of the top 25 posts this week.

Hi Lori - wow, SIX at one time!  I've read about multiple births and how the demands are just so overwhelming in many ways.  I wish this family all the best and it sounds like their community is embracing them very nicely.

Congrats on the Week in Review feature!

Wow, Paula!!!  Four is a huge accomplishment in my opinion!!!  Thank you for the congrats, I didn't even know it was in the week in review!!  I hope this brings more attention to this family.

Thank you, Ann.  I kept tell our common friend, Eva, that I would be happy to take one or two off her hands!!  ;)  For some reason I don't think that will happen though!!!  =)

Thank you, Jennifer.  I really have to give kudos to my friend, Eva.  She has done a great job alerting the media (she even had the Morning Show calling her the other day!), planning, and preparing for this fund raiser / shower.  I'm very excited to see it all coming together!!!  Thanks for commenting!!
