        I just had the Pleasure of spending the past few days at the RIS Media Leadership conference at the Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan. The quality and Caliber of people in attendance was impressive. The News and the Message of the First Day was a bit more negative than I would have liked. I Understand that some of the Top Ceo's and Presidents had to deliver a message about the economic climate, their predictions for the upcoming year and their thoughts on the Business itself. The first 2 hours were very data driven with numbers from NAR like : 9.3% of homeowners in the US have defaulted on their loan at least 30 days late.  33% of US homeowners have Negative Equity. There is another significant wave of foreclosures coming with the Alt A and Option Arm loans adjusting in the next 2 years. etc..etc.. I, Like many others that have stayed in tune with the market and its conditions, have heard all of that numerous times...I was hoping that along with those numbers and challenges, would be solutions and valuable insight to what and how it was being addressed other than the $8,000 tax credit. Which by the way was another topic trying to get addressed for an extension and the thought of offering it to ALL buyers as well. The Leadership Panel said that many companies and organizations have been trying to address it in Washington, But are getting resistance due to the Healthcare plans thats on the table for the President. The Healthcare issue is getting all of the resources and attention at this time. Others on the Panel spoke in Great Detail about HOW much Money was cut and Where it was cut from to survive and thrive.. honestly, some of the numbers were shocking..Not shocking in my eyes about it being CUT..But how much OVERSPENDING there ways in many aspects of the Business.. Great education right there.

       On a Brighter Note.... EXIT Realty's US President Tami Bonnell         spoke on the Panel of Leaders and provided a very realistic and opportunistic view of the Market. It is a time for Opportunities, it is a time for re-evaluating the way we run the Business, It is a great time to Plan for Growth. Another message from Tami Bonnell         was to get educated with Technology. Utilize Technology to become more informed, to become more Productive, and use Technology to Brand and Market yourself Better. Her take way was a six week action plan to be used by everyone and google alerts to stay leading edge with information and data.

      I also spent a great deal of time networking with Vendors such as Zillow, OnBoard Technologies, Several Smartphone application companies and many others.

      Day 2 I was in attendance of several breakout panelists from Listing Presentations for Top producers and Social Networking and how it will change our life in Real Estate.

      My take of the Past Year of events from RIS Media in NY to Inman Connect in CA. to NAR are 2 KEY WORDS...THEY ARE MY 2 NEW KEYWORDS going into the NEW year... They are .......COLLABORATE and CONNECT !!!
