I spent the week prior to 9/11 vacationing with my husband in San Francisco, San Jose, and Monterey. Our flight back to San Diego was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuseday, 9/11. Since we finished our vacation touring early, we got a flight out of San Jose at 11:30 p.m. on Monday, 9/10. If we had not been able to do that, we would have been driving back to San Diego because by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 9/11, all planes in North America had been grounded.
