North Georgia Wine Country

North Georgia has a growing Wine industry. Yesterday we went to 3 Sisters Vineyards. This is near Dalonega and just a stones throw from Big Canoe and Jasper. When you see these photos remember you are in the North Georgia Mountains not Northern California

It is late summer in North Georgia. This year we have had great weather and rain. So everything is green still.

Can you see yourself standing here in the clear air. It was so quiet and beautiful. This is one of the many wineries that have started in our mountains.

The grapes

And of course the beautiful grapes. I have to confess after I took this picture I snitched a grape. BUT I did buy a bottle at the Vineyard.

North Georgia is a beautiful place to visit and live. This is just one place in our great mountains. remember your Latin?

Charlie - I doubt we'll ever rival the Napa Valley, but we do have a pretty good climate for growing grapes and have produced some good wines.

I really do enjoy reading about your local information. Thanks for the post today.

Charlie - I love wine and touring wineries. I will admit, I lived near the Napa Valley for quite some time and surely enjoy the wines from there, as well as from the Sonoma Valley, right next door. But, my favorites are from the Willamette Valley in Oregon, the most wonderful Pinot Noir's. But, I am hoping to develop the same respect for the local (NE Georgia) wines also.

Lovely! We have a wine industry, here, too. Apparently, the climate/conditions in my area mirror that of the Loire Valley. Look forward to discovering a North Georgia vintage in our specialty wine store.

The grapes look very inviting... I'm sure these are better suited as wine...

Charlie, it is very beautiful! I will admit my ignorance, I had no idea that Georgia had a wine country.
