Absolutely Freakin' Amazing...........

I have seen this a lot with paint, but never with sand. This is amazing!

Kseniya Simonova is a Ukrainian artist who just won Ukraine's version of "America's Got Talent."

She uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and "sand painting" skills to interpret Germany's invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII

It just absolutely amazes me how our definition of art form is really limitless if you stop to think about it.

And unlimited by borders, language and culture apparently..........

John - That was absolutely incredible. I sat with my jaw dropped for most of it. Just can't believe she's able to be that precise with something like sand. And watching the different techniques she used was pretty cool.

John - WOW, WOW and WOW again. I wonder if she practiced it over and over prior to her performance? Either way, she's freakishly talented!

Matt - I was stunned also. Some people are just so artistic.

Greg - I thought the same thing. You have to really imagine the transition from one to another. I cant imagine how she does it.

Hi John ~ Mind boggling. At the beginning I'm thinking that looks like fun - I would like to try that. Then as she kept going I was totally bowled over - the way she creates figures and faces is amazing. It almost didn't seem real - how she can do what she does - yowza.

That was amazing. I couldn't believe how simple she made it look. Regardless of whether she practiced, to be able to 1) envision each move and 2) understand the motion needed to translate that vision is incredible. She could win World's Got Talent. In the meantime, AGT is pretty well reduced to a singing competition.

Liz and Erik - I felt like you did. She really had to plan out each movement in order to direct herself to the next portrait. It was amazing.

Sharon - I just want to go home and try to copy her to see what I do. I'm sure it will be a huge mess. Last interesting thing I made with sand was build a castle... and it wasnt that good.
