Hi Everyone,

Mortgage rates are STILL rising according a national survey of large lenders.  Investors continue to be unhappy with low bonds, and instead are investing in stocks.  This causes bond yields to rise, and mortgage rates follow.

Ths jump this past week was the largest increase in almost 4 years for a 1 week period.  The below rates are with an average of .27 points.  It is possible to lower the rate buy paying more points up front, as many buyers choose to pay 1-2 points for a lower rate, especially if they will be in the home long-term.

Let me know if you want me to run specific scenarios.

The average 30-year fixed rate rose to 6.84 percent.

The average 15-year fixed rose to 6.53 percent.

The average jumbo 30-year fixed rose to 7.12 percent.

5/1 ARM rose to 6.67 percent.

The average HELOC up to 8.19 percent

The average fixed-rate home equity loan went up to 7.98 percent.
