Hoss and Joe and Adam Know Every Rock and Pine!  ... Bonanza Celebrate 50 Years As One Of America's Favorite TV Shows.

Hoss and Joe and Adam Know Every Rock and Pine!  ...  Bonanza Celebrate 50 Years As One Of  America'sBonanza Icon fom TV LAND by Lisa Wetzel RE/MAX Realty Affiliates Favorite TV Shows.  How many know that those words are part of the lyrics of the actual theme song from the popular show?  Loren Green ... Ben Cartwright from the series released an album in the late 60's with the same title.  As a young girl visiting my Grandma in the tiny Colorado town of Walden I listened and listened to that record until the words were etched into my brain.

This week one of America's iconic television series celebrates 50 years of family entertainment with activities and events in Nevada and California.  For die hard fans there is even a scheduled DVD Release of the first few seasons.

Bonanza Cast from TVLand - Remax Realty AffiliatesLiving in Northern Nevada in the vicinity of Bonanza's historic setting endears this particular TV series to me more than most.  I have fond memories of the Sunday evening ritual Hucklleberry Hound, the Wonderful World of Disney and then ... Bonanza!  My mom never missed her favorite show!   My sisters and I fell asleep many Sunday evenings listening to that thundering intro and watching the Cartwrights live and work on the Ponderosa..

Today, through the miracle of TVLAND, I have a new Sunday ritual.  Today I spend many Sunday mornings watching Ben, Adam, Hoss and Little Joe ride the Ponderosa again ... this time with my 9 year old grandson, Gabe!

As when I was his age, Gabe loves to see the local sites on TV and always waits to point out where we live on the blazing map maps that signals that another Bonanza episode is about to begin.

Very interesting post ... thanks for sharing your memory!  As a kid we visited the Ponderosa Ranch House in Incline village, the site of many of the external ranch scenes.  It's a fun memory for many who visited and had the "Ranch House Tour".

Lisa - this was one of my favorite shows as a kid. As much time as I have spent around Lake Tahoe, I never did make it to the Ponderosa Ranch Park. Is it even still open?

Ponderosa Ranch closed to the public a few years ago.  Virginia City is still a thriving spot!

Hey Sheldon!  I've heard that the show was popular in Europe.  My Nephew brought a beautiful bride home from Germany.  On one of her first trips we took them to the Ponderosa ranch.  It was fun then and a fun memory now!  Thanks!
